Winston today announced the winners of its second FlyFishingMovies.com Film Festival for the
period ending December 31, 2007. Over 50 films were submitted for the current festival.
Thank you to all those who submitted films…we love watching them and hope you will continue making them!
Jury member James Prosek commented after watching the festival films, “I thought they were a really a good
bunch! A lot of fun to watch. I especially liked ones that had a little irony and humor …..flyfishing is serious
business, but it’s still recreation, play-acting an old predatory ritual…..it should be fun.
After careful deliberation by the jury, we are pleased to announce the following winners:

For Best Film Overall movie goes to “The Film That Didn’t Make the Drake Mag Cut”, submitted by R.A. Beattie and BOP/ Beattie Outdoor Productions. They will receive the grand prize of one week (6 days guided fishing) Trip for Two to the Ascension Bay Bonefish Club in Ascension Bay, Mexico.
For Best Freshwater Film goes to “SOULFISH/River Wolf”
For Best Saltwater Film goes to “Tarpon Season II””
Both of the Silver Trout winners will receive a Winston graphite rod of their choice plus a pair of Winston sunglasses.
For Best Freshwater Film goes to “Rynda Trout”
For Best Saltwater Film goes to “Red Fish Can’t Jump”
Both of the Bronze Trout winners will receive $100 in Winston accessories of their choice.
In addition, the Jury awarded Certificates of Distinction to:
three freshwater films; “What is it?”, “Zoo Zealand”, and Flyfishing Taimen” and one saltwater film “SOULFISH - A Fly-Fishing Adventure”. The 4 Certificate of Distinction winners will receive $100 in Winston accessories of their choice.

Certificates will be presented to all winners and the names of the winners will be engraved on a
FlyFishingMovies.com Film Festival plaque permanently housed in the Winston Museum. Winston and
the Festival Jury congratulate the winners for their impressive award-winning films. In addition, we’d like
to thank all the filmmakers for an outstanding array of entertaining submissions. It takes a great deal of
work to put together a film with an interesting story, told in a compelling and creative way…..the caliber
of films was impressive.
The Jury consisted of James Prosek, renowned artist, conservationist and writer; Chad Oman, President
of Production with Jerry Bruckheimer Films, and Steve Ransohoff, President of Film Finances, Inc.
