- Winston today announced the grand prize for the winner of the second FlyFishingMovies.com Film Festival ending December 31st, 2007 with a retail value of over $5,000. According to Festival Director, Kevin Turman, “This is the largest prize I have ever heard of for any film festival, let alone one for flyfishing. Many of the saltwater films which appear on our site were shot in Ascension Bay at ABBC. It is considered one of the top saltwater flyfishing destinations in the world for the variety of species available and one of the leading destinations where anglers have a legitimate shot at catching a grand slam."
The Grand Prize for the best film overall will be a trip for two for one week (6 days guided fishing) to the Ascension Bay Bonefish Club (ABBC) in Ascension Bay, Mexico (airfare and gratuities not included)*. The Silver Trout: A Winston graphite rod (of the winner’s choice) and a pair of Winston sunglasses (new models to be unveiled in September) will be awarded to the top film in each of the freshwater and saltwater categories (two winners).
The Bronze Trout: $100 in Winston accessories (of the winners’ choice) will be awarded to the best film in each of the freshwater and saltwater categories (two winners).
Special Awards:
Conservation Prize: When the Jury deems it appropriate, it will present a special award for the “best conservation film” submitted during a festival period. Winners will receive $100 in Winston accessories (of the winner’s choice).
Certificate of Distinction: When the Jury deems it appropriate, it will present a special certificate of merit for a particularly noteworthy film submitted during a festival period. Winners will receive $100 in Winston accessories (of the winner’s choice).
