- Today, the R.L. Winston Rod Co. in Twin Bridges, Montana
announced the Grand Prize and Regional Winners of their 2007 “Cast a Winston” Contest. Winston has received thousands of entries from all over the United States and Canada since last Spring. The Grand Prize Winner, Dave Busse from Georgia, won the Winston Rod Sampler of six fly rods including a Boron IIx freshwater rod, Boron IIx saltwater rod, WT 3-piece, LT 5-piece and Winston Vapor and Winston Ascent rods.

Dave cast his winning entry at Fly Box Outfitters in Marietta, Georgia. He told us
he had once won a car in a contest—but winning 6 Winston rods was even better!
In addition, 30 regional winners won either a 1st place Boron IIx, 2nd place Vapor
or a 3rd place Ascent rod in 10 regions across the U.S. and Canada. Entering the
contest was easy – all they had to do was ask to Cast a Winston at any
authorized Winston dealer!
Shop Employee Grand Prize Winner - Ian Anderson
Winston also ran the same contest for employees of its dealers across the country
who submitted the largest number of valid Cast a Winston cards accompanied
by a warranty card. The 30 shop employees who submitted the 1st, 2nd and
3rd largest number of valid entries in each region also won Winston rods as prizes.
Ian Anderson from Flymasters in Indianapolis, IN was awarded the One Week
Trip for Two* to the Ascension Bay Bonefish Club for submitting the largest number
of valid contest entries nationally.
